So, I had to bury my iPhone in rice for the past three days. And it works now!
It happened when I was on the phone with Eric. The call kept dropping and it kept going to the shut down screen. So, after a few times of call fail and the phone attempting to shut down itself, I decided to shut it down for a while. I then turned it back on after a few minutes. It seemed fine.
I noticed the wet camera when I was taking a photo of EJ. I usually take multiple photos of him everyday, but this photo came out all fuzzy.
After taking the photo, I looked at the camera and noticed there was condensation inside. Yikes! I don’t know how it happened. But I guess EJ just chewed on it one too many times. Luckily I didn’t drop it in the toilet or something. I don’t think the rice trick will work with that 😉
Anyway, it’s nice having my phone back after a three day hiatus. I realize how much I use it! I get my daily schedule, weather, news, emails, scriptures, Facebook updates, etc from my phone. But I also realize how nice it was without my phone. Rather peaceful actually. I felt “unchained”. It was nice to just use good all old fashion pen and paper again! That works too!
In any case, I’m glad to say I’m not a slave to my phone, that I can live without it (I know many people who say they can’t!), but it’s definitely nice having it back!

I can’t believe 2011 came and went just like that! We didn’t stay up counting down or anything. I basically woke up at midnight, said Happy New Year, and went straight back to bed. I’m too old to stay up 🙂
Talking about old. Eric’s turning 30 in a few weeks!!!! It’s a big turning point, huh? So far we’ve got plans to go to Vegas. Can’t wait for a holiday!! But I guess it really isn’t a vacation if we’re carrying a 15 month old around. Lol!
And I can’t believe my baby boy is 15 months!! People left and right keep asking us when we’re gonna have baby #2. I’m still enjoying my baby #1. Really enjoying it now. He’s so dang CUTE! He loves hugs and kisses. He kisses with his mouth open and hugs by gripping you tightly around your neck. So sweet! He loves singing and dancing. He’ll start bopping his head up and down and bending his knees up and down when he hears a catchy tune. He starts ‘singing’ along when we sing nursery rhymes together. His favorite song (I think) is still “If you’re happy and you know”. He’ll clap his hands every time he hears that song. He knows the actions to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. We’re working on the actions for the Wheels on the Bus. He knows how to use the iPad and play his favorite Sesame Street videos of Elmo. He loves “Elmo’s Song”. He knows how to press play to watch a YouTube video. He knows how to answer the phone. He’s talk to Eric’s client once and one of our friends another time on the phone. Just babbling away. He talked to our friend for two whole minutes! Just bababababba-ing away! Lol!! We had no idea. He’s such a smart, sweet, adorable little kid. I love him to pieces. He can’t be any more perfect! (Maybe he can learn to sleep through the night once in a while.)
There’s still things to finish from 2011, but we’re definitely looking ahead and looking forward to an exciting 2012!

So far, I’ve made double decker fudge, chocolate chip cheesecake bars, and cut-out sugar cookies. Next we’re looking at some dulce de leche brownies, possibly raspberry brownies, and maybe an apple cinnamon streusel cake.

Six years today Eric and I were married and sealed for all time and eternity in the Sydney, Australia temple. Six years!! We didn’t really do anything special today to celebrate. Eric went to work and I was home with EJ trying to get Christmas things done. In the evening we helped Rie out with a service project to fill ten bags of food for ten families in our stake. Rie was so sweet! She made a cake especially for us (I’d like to think it was especially for us!) It was a carrot cake with the number six decorated on top of the frosting with nuts. It was Eric’s turn to get the gift this year and he got me a 75 minute massage at a spa. Heavenly!! Can’t wait to go! I planned a dinner at Spencers and then the IMAX movie, Mission Impossible. But EJ’s sick. Can’t really get anyone to watch him cos he’s contagious! So we’ll have to do our dinner and movie next week. Life is really different with a kid. But it’s been six crazy, wonderful years! And many more to come!

It always seems that whenever I have a plan on how to go about my day, EJ’s nap comes in and messes it up. Grr!! I think I have a good idea of his nap schedule, but the day that I make plans, he comes in with a plan of his own to mess up my plans!!
I’d plan to straighten up the house and vacuum the living room and bedrooms in the morning. Then when he goes down for his morning nap at 11:00 a.m., I’d sweep and mop the kitchen and bathroom floor. I’ll make lunch when he’s still sleeping, then it’ll be ready for him when he wakes up. After lunch, I’d plan to go to the store and pick up some things. Come home and then get ready to go to my workout class at 3:00 p.m. After class, we’d come home and he’ll go down for his afternoon nap, and I’ll shower and make dinner and be ready for Eric to come home! What a day! Great plan. Bleh… Didn’t get pass the vacuuming.
He doesn’t mind the vacuum. He doesn’t like it, but he doesn’t really mind it. He just shouts at it and runs far far away from it. The vacuuming part was easy. He got out of the way. But then, all my plans went to trash when he refused to sleep! I can’t sweep and mop the floor when he’s awake cos he likes running through the dirt. So, it would’ve been perfect if he were sleeping. I’d try putting him down twice, but nope. By that time, it was time for lunch. He usually has his lunch after his nap, but since we didn’t nap, we just had lunch. I’d thought he’d be sleepy after lunch like most people do. But no, he wasn’t. He rolled around in his bed, and played and played, and fussed, and played. Finally…. he just crashed. That was 2:30 p.m. Grr! Didn’t get to run errands and obviously not gonna make it to my class. Boo!!
My life revolves around his sleep schedule, even though it’s not really a sleep schedule. 🙁
Highlight of it all: Seeing him run from the vacuum and yelling at the vacuum like telling it to keep it down! Precious!

First time I ever got a perm. I was so nervous. But it turned out pretty good! It took soooo long, though. I listened to the same cd on repeat at least three times.
Hopefully I can keep up with the maintenance!!
On a seriously annoying side note. This stinking Volvo has been parked outside our house for the past FIVE days!! It’s illegal to park in the same spot for more than 72 hours on a public street, it counts as ‘storing’ your vehicle and you can’t do that! Plus they’re parked on the curb where I put my trash cans out for trash day! I left a really nice note to please move their vehicle before trash day. They didn’t. I called the towing company. The car owner came out, spoke to the tow guy just before their car was about to get towed, and so dodged that bullet. BUT he still didn’t move his car. Such a hindrance and an eye sore!! Grrr!!! Well, if it’s not moved within the next 72 hours, I’ll just call the towing company again. I have them on speed dial.
Leave a CommentThat’s what EJ will say if he’s ordering food at a restaurant.
Today for lunch, we had chicken, broccoli, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, spinach dip with french loaf. He didn’t want anything. ANYTHING!! @___@ But he was obviously hungry because he was whiney and clingy when he saw me preparing the food. He also signed “more” indicating he wanted food (so cute and so glad he finally learned it). But when we finally sat down and ate, he’d throw everything off the table. Spat everything out. And just refused to eat. What?!?! I finally gave up and gave him bread. Bread! BREAD!! Sometimes, that’s all he’s willing to eat. Oh, and cheerios. But he didn’t even finish his bread. He was done after half a slice. He got done from his highchair. And the first thing he went for after getting down was his “Thomas and the Freight Train” board book. And he was just munching on the corners of the book. He even offered me some. Really?!?! I seriously hope he doesn’t have some weird eating habit.
Leave a CommentYes, that’s my boy. Seriously!! It’s driving me up the wall. Eric and I both LOVE food. We eat anything and everything. Well, I’m a bit picky about some things. I won’t eat olives or cherry tomatoes, but pretty much everything under the sun I’m willing to try at least once, and more often than not, I’ll eat it.
But we have this boy who doesn’t eat! For lunch yesterday, he had two bites of his mac and cheese, and he was done. Two bites?!?! How can you be full after two bites? Tonight’s dinner we had hawaiian sweet rolls with tuna salad, an egg, and of course, leftover mac and cheese. C’mon, kid! There’s gotta be something he’ll eat! Yeah, two bites of his roll. @>_
He’s a tiny kid! He hasn’t grown taller since his last checkup. He put on only one pound. They don’t tell us his percentile anymore. But the doctor showed it to us on the computer screen. His height was below the lowest line. It was off the chart! And his weight was on the very last line. Sigh ~~
Ok, so the doc says no worries. But it’s hard for a mom not to worry when her kid isn’t eating as much. Worse, if he’s picky. I can already foresee it. Oh the horrors!!!
